Markdown Formatting Shortcuts

Instead of going to the toolbar each time you want to apply a format, you can use a Markdown shortcut. For example, to make a word bold, simply add two asterisks around it as you type:

This is an example of **bold** text.

The editor will automatically format the text for you. Below is a complete list of shortcuts you can use in the editor.

Basic formatting

These formats will be applied when you hit SPACE after typing them.

Italic

*italic*
_italic_

Bold:

**bold**
__bold__

Strikethrough:

~~strike~~

Code:

`code`

Headings, lists, etc.

These formats will be applied when you hit ENTER after typing them.

Headings 1-6:

# Lorem ipsum
## Lorem ipsum
### Lorem ipsum
#### Lorem ipsum
##### Lorem ipsum
###### Lorem ipsum

Blockquote:

> Lorem ipsum…

Numbered List:

1. Lorem ipsum…
